Grade or Premult, which comes first?
SUMMARY
- Consider Premult as a trick on the color, only to have our transparency right
- Unfortunately and by design, it messes with the color, since it limits it by the alpha
- Because of that, any color operation that you want to do on your element has to happen before the Premult node
- If you adjust colors on your elements after the Premult node, you will likely have issues on your edges, created only because of the incorrect order of those nodes
- Premult is a fairly sensitive operation that can only happen once, so be sure to avoid putting it twice or more, or you will have similar issues of dark edges
